It was a busy year at Kings Landing and for the Kings Landing Foundation. It has been great to see some sense of normalcy return after a number of years suffering from the initial impacts and carry-over effects of the pandemic.
Earlier this year, Kings Landing hosted a very successful gardening project for students from Kingsclear Consolidated School. The Kings Landing Foundation was able to support and offset the costs of student transportation for this initiative to help make the project a success.
The Kings Landing Foundation also took strides this year to update and refresh its presence in the Welcome Centre at Kings Landing. On your next visit to Kings Landing, we invite you to stop by the Kings Landing Foundation’s corner of the Welcome Centre to admire the updates and learn more about ways to donate and become involved in supporting Kings Landing.
In August of 2023, the Kings Landing Foundation was pleased to provide Kings Landing with $8,500 to support the ongoing Slipp House Renovation & Revitalization Project. This gift is in addition to the $25,000 paid to Kings Landing last year, and once again this gift was made possible due to generosity of the Kings Landing Foundation’s donors. In September of 2023, a number of the Kings Landing Foundation’s board members once again had the privilege of receiving a guided tour of the Slipp House. It was very exciting to see that the Slipp House Renovation & Revitalization Project is nearing completion; the finished version of the Slipp House will serve as a wonderful complement to Kings Landing’s Visiting Cousins Program and offers many opportunities for new programs and events for Kings Landing.
We wish to send a warm welcome to Travis Weber, who started in his role as Kings Landing’s CEO in early September 2023. The Kings Landing Foundation is excited to work with Travis in the coming years and to continue supporting the growth and prosperity of Kings Landing.
